My research interests include nonverbal expressions of social power, relational leadership and communication pedagogy. My dissertation explores how professors intentionally think about constructing a community-centered dialogue in the classroom.
I teach courses in Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication, Leadership, Business Communication and Public Speaking.
I am a member of the Central States Communication Association, Mid-Western Educational Research Association and Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. I serve as co-advisor to the Communication Club and I supervise honors theses, internships and independent studies.
I enjoy cooking meals from my garden, playing with my two dogs, reading, coaching (public speaking) and golfing. I also love exploring new places—my most recent travels include Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria.
