Research Interests

I am currently doing research on rapidly increasing farmland prices. I am concerned that this may be a bubble, which could have many long term consequences.

Teaching Interests

I greatly enjoy teaching a variety of management and marketing courses at Eureka College. These include BUA 211-Personal Finance, BUA 220-Management, BUA 230-Marketing, BUA 321W- Human Resources Management, BUA 324-Theory of Constraints, and BUA 331-Consumer Behavior.

I also enjoy teaching IDW 490W-Senior Seminar with a focus upon Decision Making.

Professional Activity

I am currently serving in my second year (of a six year commitment) as a member of the Executive Board of MBAA International. MBAA International is in its 50th year of holding conferences to promote the sharing of research and writing in the area of Business Administration. I have been a member of MBAA International since 1992.

I am Past President of the North American Management Society. I have served as a Board Member of NAMS since 1996. I have been a member of NAMS since 1992.

About

I grew up on a diversified livestock and crop farm near Aledo, Illinois. My family has been raising registered Aberdeen Angus beef cattle since 1937. I continue to be involved in the Angus cattle operations at Bluff View Farms, my family farm.

I greatly enjoy traveling. As a college freshman, I set a goal to travel in all fifty states. I have now accomplished that goal.

In the past I have traveled in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.

I visited China in 2013! In 2013, Prof. Rubash & I took a group of students to London for a two week Eureka College course, London Live 2013. London Live 2014 is planned for May-June 2014!
