Research Interests

In my artwork and research, I explore the experience of my surroundings, be it land, objects, or people, through repeated elements. My goal is to create works where people experience the same moments of discovery and feeling of losing oneself in the imagery. My primary media uses printmaking, both copper plate etching and wood relief techniques, to build layers of various of information on fine paper.

Teaching Interests

Creativity lends itself to problem solving, exploration, and discovery. As an artist, I feel it is my contribution to society to assist people in finding their own creativity, finding ways to see the world differently. As a teacher, I am given the opportunity to do so.

Professional Activity

I own and operate two Downtown Bloomington businesses. My gallery, Main Gallery 404, provides a space for local artists to exhibit artwork of all kinds. Almost 50 artists contribute to the space for display, sales, exposure, and community. My studio functions as a community printmaking and papermaking facility providing an introduction or continuation of the process for public use. The studio is titled cometogetherstudios print&paper located by the Pantagraph newspaper just west of Downtown Bloomington.

Born and raised in Wyoming, I am tied to the mountain landscape. I am continuously finding the beautiful line of the mountain spaces in unsuspecting places of the flat lands. I received my BFA from the University of Wyoming before arriving at Illinois State University to receive my MFA. I live in Bloomington with the love of my life and our pets as we continue to make our dreams come true.
