BIOLOGY - OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AT EUREKA
Clinical
Laboratory Science is conducted in cooperation with Saint Francis School of Medical
Technology in Peoria, Illinois and St. John's School of Clinical Laboratory Science
in Springfield, Illinois. The program prepares students for careers in medical
laboratories, and in assisting pathologists and other medical professionals. Students
spend three years studying at Eureka College and the fourth year (12 months) at
Saint Francis or St. John's. Entry into the hospital schools is on a competitive
basis. A student must successfully complete all general requirements and
those for a major in Biology/Clinical Laboratory Science at the College, and must
accumulate 92 semester hours of credit.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A MAJOR IN CLINICAL
LABORATORY SCIENCE
Plus
32 hours required of completed course work specified by the affiliated hospitals.
The 12-month program at Schools of Clinical Laboratory Science at Saint Francis
Medical Center or St. John's Hospital includes 32 semester hours of courses. Successful
completion of these courses will be entered on the Eureka College transcripts
as "pass" and will be designated by the prefix CLS. The courses are:
