As a student, athlete and leader, I developed time management skills that are essential to balancing a career and a family. In addition, because of my experiences as a Reagan Fellow, I was selected to serve in the prestigious position of law clerk to the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder. "Eureka gave me the ability to relate with individuals from diverse backgrounds. This has been a skill that I have incorporated in both my personal and professional life. Growing up in the inner city Chicago, I quickly learned after arriving Eureka that there were people who saw the world differently than I did. I grew to respect and understand their opinions and that knowledge and experience has opened many opportunities. I first realized this after college while working in Washington DC. Because of the city's great diversity, I quickly found myself working with and dealing with people from all over the country. Since my legal and political career has put me in situations where it is critical that I understand where someone is coming from, I am proud to say this skill was something I first developed at Eureka." |
