ANN SHOEMAKER
Ann Evans Shoemaker was born in Texas and raised in Ohio. She graduated from West High School in Columbus, OH. Ann and her husband, Cliff, moved to Eureka in 1978. She worked for Harrod Law Firm from 1978 – 1985.
Ann will retire in June after 23 years as administrative assistant for the college’s Ronald W. Reagan Leadership Program. Before that, she was the administrative assistant in the dean’s office and circulation supervisor in the Melick Library. Besides her work role, Ann has participated in the Eureka College Community Chorale and assisted with designing and constructing costumes for college theater productions. She was the inaugural recipient of the Eureka College Staff Recognition Award in 1998. She also is a member of the Eureka College Women’s Board, which raises funds for campus improvements. College officials recently announced the establishment of the Ann Shoemaker Mentorship Fund, which will help fund Reagan Fellows’ mentorship trips.
Ann is an elder for the Eureka Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She has served in many roles at the church including Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir.
Ann is here tonight with her son, Chris, and daughter-in-law Julie. She is grandmother of Abby and Katie.
