Gloria McDonald McNett '55
The Award for Service exists to recognize dedication of one’s time and effort to the advancement of Eureka College. It is awarded to alumni who have made a significant contribution to the life or mission of the college, including its programs or students.
This year’s recipient is Gloria McDonald McNett.
Gloria graduated from Eureka College in 1955 with a Bachelor Degree in Education. While at Eureka, Gloria was a member of the Pegasus newspaper staff, Chapel Choir, Delta Zeta sorority, and a Eureka Scholar. Gloria married her college sweetheart, William McNett, Class of 1951.
Professionally, Gloria has served as a teacher and learning center, Title I director for Washington grade school, served 13 years on the Education and English Faculty at Eureka College and 20 years on the Faculty at Illinois Central College.
Gloria has served her community by participating on numerous boards including the Washington Grade School and Community High School Boards. She is a volunteer tutor in the Washington school system and at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

recruiter, sorority liaison, a committee member and a volunteer at almost all levels of participation.
Currently, she serves on the EC Women's Board, the Alumni Board, as a member of the SBPAC group (the President's advisory council), as well as a professor at ICC and a private tutor for Washington students.
