Hello Fellow Alums -
How wonderful it was to welcome so many of you home to Eureka during alumni weekend a few weeks ago. Hundreds of alumni made the pilgrimage back to Eureka to celebrate reunions, see faculty and staff, and enjoy the milestones that come with deep and lasting bonds of friendships made here ’neath the Elms. Dr. Logsdon’s Studs Terkel Project Becomes Regular Feature
Dr. Loren Logsdon, Professor Emeritus of English has captured the spirit of Eureka College through a special project he fondly calls the “Studs Terkel Project.”
Dr. Logsdon shared this collection of alumni memories during alumni weekend. All of the combined stories will weave a rich tapestry of Eureka College memories from the '40s, '50s, and '60s. We are excited to share some of these stories with you in the upcoming Maroon and Gold E-newsletters. Here’s Dr. Logsdon’s explanation of the project and the first of many stories you will enjoy.

Seniors Give Back Through Senior Gift Program
Last August, a terrible storm hit Eureka College, causing destruction to many buildings on campus and taking out old beautiful trees that were hundreds of years old. It's easy to take the beauty of trees for granted until they are gone. The senior class decided they would like to give back by donating their class gift to beautifying campus and buying new trees to plant. Each senior’s donation will be part of this Earth-friendly initiative. Someday they will be able to show their grandkids the mark they left on Eureka College. |
