Milestones...

Those moments that  are monuments in your life. Graduation, anniversaries, birthdays. This is my milestone time of year: 25 years of marriage to my college sweetheart, 22 years of service to Eureka College and another birthday.  I welcome this time because it gives me the chance to celebrate the gifts in my life, to reflect on how I have changed along with the people and things around me, and a chance to plan and redirect if necessary to achieve my goals.

Another big milestone coming my way is the 25th reunion of the class of 1987. My classmates and I are forming the reunion committee now and are excited to reconnect with all of our classmates during homecoming and during a special weekend next June.

So what are you celebrating this year? Take some time at this mid-point of 2011 and celebrate where you have been and where you are heading on life’s journey. Eureka College has been such an important part of my life for 29 years.  I hope that you count Eureka among your blessings too!

Dr. Logsdon’s Studs Terkel Project

Dr. Loren Logsdon, Professor Emeritus of English, has captured the spirit of Eureka College history in a special project he fondly calls the “Studs Terkel Project.” The project is a collection of alumni memories and stories which weave a rich tapestry of the Eureka College experience during the '40s, '50s and '60s.
