The Eureka College Summer Choral Camp was created in the summer of 2000 to meet an important need in Central Illinois – a summer music program that would provide young singers with additional vocal/choral training and opportunities to meet and socialize with other students who possess similar musical interests.

The choral camp, hosted on the beautiful campus of Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, is an extremely busy week as campers are immersed in individual, small ensemble, and large group instruction.  Afternoon recital performances and discussions, led by professional vocalists, are also held every afternoon directly after lunch.  These performance and subsequent discussion experiences are extremely valuable for the campers because they not only have the opportunity to hear talented singers but also the opportunity to dialogue with the professional artists.  The camp concludes with a grand finale concert held on the last day of camp.

  • a talent show
  • video scavenger hunts
  • a grand finale concert

The Summer Choral Camp provides campers with a comprehensive and accelerated choral learning experience including participation in both large and small ensembles, voice classes, private voice studio, music reading, music history, and music theory. As part of the curriculum, campers will study and perform the All-State audition pieces as a means to help students prepare for fall IMEA auditions.


Application Process

Space is limited! Individual instruction and small group lessons are at the core of the program, therefore, enrollment is capped at 60 on a first come, first served basis.

Required Application Materials:

  1. Completed camp application. (Camp enrollment will close on May 31, 2015)
  2. $100.00 non-refundable deposit credited to the camper’s account, payable to Eureka College Summer Choral Camp (deposit returned only if the application is received after enrollment has closed)
  3. Completed Summer Choral Camp Medical Form

Costs

  • Resident Camper (Tuition, Room & Board: $440.00 if application is received on or before May 1st , 2015;
    $460.00 if received between May 2nd and May 31st, 2015)
  • Commuting Camper (Tuition and lunches: $340.00. if application is received on or before May 1st , 2015;
    $360.00 if received between May 2nd and May 31st, 2015)
  • Private Voice Studio Lesson – 30 minutes each (optional) – $15
