Eureka College Announces Spring 2010 A.D. Honor Roll

Spring 2010 A.D. Honor Roll

EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka College athletics department recognized a record-high 81 student-athletes on its Spring 2010 Director of Athletics Honor Roll, Director of Athletics Paul Bryant announced on Thursday.  Every Eureka College athletics team was represented on the A.D. Honor Roll for the second consecutive semester.

The Eureka football team led the department for the second consecutive semester with 18 selections to the A.D. Honor Roll, while more than half of the members of the softball, women’s tennis, women’s basketball, men’s tennis and swim teams qualified for the honor roll.  The women’s tennis team placed 87.5 percent of its roster on the list, the highest percentage among Eureka teams.  A total of 17 multi-sport student-athletes earned the honor.

Eureka placed nine student-athletes on the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Spring All-Academic Team last month for a 2009-10 total of 15, while three football players earned the same honor from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference last fall.

“I am very proud that our success on the playing field last year was matched by our success in the classroom,” Bryant said.  “That being said, we can only expect bigger and better success in the future in both areas.”

Student-athletes must earn at least a 3.0 grade point average for the semester to earn a spot on the A.D Honor Roll, which is announced after the fall and spring semesters.  The A.D. Honor Roll was introduced at Eureka in the summer of 2009.
