NBA Star Shaun Livingston Pays Visit to Eureka College
EUREKA, Ill. – Peoria, Ill native and Milwaukee Bucks guard Shaun Livingston paid a visit to Eureka College on Monday. The eight-year National Basketball Association veteran met and posed for photos with Eureka student-athletes and received a tour of campus and Eureka’s athletics facilities from EC Director of Athletics Paul Bryant.
“It’s great to have Shaun on campus today,” Bryant said on Monday. “He was excited to see the transformation on campus and equally enthused about the direction the athletic department is headed.”
Livingston, who also met with members of the Eureka athletics staff during his visit, was a four-year high school basketball standout in Peoria from 2000 until 2004. He led Peoria High School to back-to-back IHSA class AA state championships in 2003 and 2004 and played in the McDonald’s High School All-American game in 2004, earning co-Most Valuable Player honors. Livingston was chosen fourth overall in the 2004 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Since his rookie season in 2004-05, Livingston has appeared in 266 career games for five NBA teams. He was traded to the Bucks on June 23, 2011 after playing in 73 games last season for the Charlotte Bobcats.
