Bryan Moore Named Sports Information Director

EUREKA, Ill. – East Peoria native Bryan Moore has been named Sports Information Director at Eureka College, Director of Athletics Paul Bryant announced Tuesday.  Moore will serve as the primary media contact for each of Eureka’s 18 varsity programs.

Moore, 25, comes to Eureka after a two-year stint in the sports information office at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.  While at Bradley, Moore was the primary sports information contact for seven of Bradley’s 14 sports, including Bradley’s nationally recognized men’s soccer program.  Moore also coordinated Bradley’s audio and video web streaming program.

“Bryan’s expertise in media relations will assist in making EC more visible,” Bryant said.  “He brings an enthusiasm about college athletics that I know will benefit the Red Devils.”

A 2006 graduate of Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill., Moore worked for four years as a play-by-play broadcaster and anchor at WWIR-TV, the student-run television station at WIU.  He served as sports director at WIUS-FM in 2006, the student-run radio station.

Moore completed a broadcast/media relations internship with the Peoria Chiefs in 2005.  With the Chiefs, Moore was responsible for writing game recaps and general press releases concerning roster changes and promotional events.  He also played a part in the media relations efforts when Peoria hosted the 2005 Midwest League All-Star Game.

The Eureka College fall sports schedule is slated to begin with a trio of events in Eureka on Tuesday, Sept. 1.  The men’s soccer team will open its season with a 4 p.m. kickoff at Traister Field against Lincoln Christian College, while the volleyball team will play back-to-back matches at the Reagan Center against Rose Hulman and Knox College beginning at 5 p.m.
