Ackerman Leads Eureka at SLIAC Championships

ELSAH, Ill. – Eureka College junior Mary Ackerman (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) ran a 3-mile time of 23:31.11 for a 30th place finish, leading the Red Devils at the SLIAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Principia in Elsah, Ill., Saturday afternoon.

Originally scheduled to be hosted by Greenville at the Hillsboro Country Club, inclement weather forced a late change to a shorter road course near the campus of Principia College in Elsah, Ill.

Ackerman led a pack of four EC women’s runners.  Freshman Rebecca Koltveit (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac H.S.) finished in 41st place with a time of 24:25.26.  Freshman Shelbi Rodgers (Batavia, Ill./Batavia H.S.) ran the course in a time of 27:04.34 for 49th place, followed by sophomore Samantha Peacock (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone H.S.) finished in 53rd place with a time of 30:53.39.

On the men’s side, junior Nathan Pritzger (Morton, Ill.) was the top Eureka performer with a 4-mile time of 26:39.56 for 51st place.  Senior Jason List (Mason City, Ill./Illini Central H.S.) was 60th, running the course in 31:01.46.
