Moseley honored with IBFC weekly defensive award

October 25, 2007

MEQUON, Wis. — Eureka College linebacker Michael Moseley (Lubbock, Texas/Monterey) has been honored by the Illini-Badger Football Conference as Defensive Player of the Week for week eight of the college football season.

Moseley set Eureka single game-highs for the season with 15 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in the Red Devils' 21-6 loss to Benedictine University Saturday, Oct. 20. His 4.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage resulted in a total loss of 14 yards. Only one player in the conference has recorded more tackles for loss in a game this season.

Moseley's 15 tackles are the most in a game by a Red Devil since Josh Heinz had 15 versus Concordia Chicago on Sept. 25, 2004. His 4.5 tackles for loss are the most for EC since Kevin Davis had 4.5 versus Benedictine, also in 2004.

For the season, Moseley leads the team with six tackles for loss and is fourth with 32 tackles. He is Eureka's second Player of the Week for defense this year. He shared this week's award with Jeremy Carver of Concordia University (WI).

The Red Devils (1-6, 1-4 IBFC) host conference rival Aurora University this Saturday for Homecoming and Senior Day at 1:00 pm.
