Dan Sullivan resigns as eureka head football coach

Eureka College head football coach Dan Sullivan has stepped down from his position effective immediately, citing family obligations as the reason for his departure. Sullivan was in the middle of his fourth season at EC, compiling a record of 5-30. Associate Head Coach Matthew Smiley will take over the program as Interim Head Coach until a permanent coach is identified.

"I am confident in Coach Smiley’s ability to lead the football program as we make this transition and I wish Dan much success in his next endeavor," said Eureka College Athletics Director Paul Bryant.

The Red Devils are currently 2-3 overall this season and 1-2 in the first year of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. Eureka plays at Principia College this Saturday starting at Noon.
