Punjabi cards consecutive top 10 finishes to end fall season

The EC men's golf team took 11th place out of 14 squads at the IVCC Golf Invitational held at Oak Ridge Golf Course in LaSalle over the weekend. Eureka shot a team score of 655 at the two-day event.

Narish Punjabi (Washington, Ill./HS) was in fine form on both days, carding a 76 and 75 to finish in seventh place overall, just five strokes away from medalist honors. It was his second top ten finish in as many tournaments as a Red Devil.

IVCC transfer Matt Morse (Magnolia, Ill./Fieldcrest) returned to his former stomping grounds and finished with a 161 (79-82), just 10 shots out of the top ten. Following him on the Eureka line up card were Brady Wildenradt (Delavan, Ill./HS) with a 168, T.J. Schopp (Leroy, Ill./HS) with a 173 and Ryan Matlock (LeRoy, Ill./HS) with a 193.

This tournament concluded the fall portion of the Red Devil golf schedule.  The 2008-09 season will re-start in March.
