Red Devils improve 21 shots in 2nd round to finish 6th

The Red Devils golf team improved 21 shots in the second round Saturday to move up one spot and finish in sixth place out of eight varsity squads at the Millikin University Spring Opener.

Matt Morse (Magnolia, Ill./Fieldcrest) led EC with a pair of 83s for a 36-hole score of 166 on the par 72 layout.  He finished in a tie for 39th out of a total field of 76 golfers.  Brady Wildenradt (Delavan, Ill./HS) was close behind with a 168 (86-82).  Dan Cameron (Byron, Ill./HS) carded the lowest round of the event for Eureka with an 80 in the second round.

The Red Devils had a team score of 679 (350-329). Southern Indiana won the tournament at 606, followed by Monmouth at 613.  Eureka will next play in the Gorlok Spring Invitational March 30 and 31.
