Eureka Finishes Play at Prairie Fire Classic
GALESBURG, Ill. – Eureka College junior T.J. Schopp (LeRoy, Ill./LeRoy H.S.) recorded a two-round score of 176 to lead the Red Devils to a team score of 756 and a 15th place finish at the Prairie Fire Classic hosted by Knox at the Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg, Ill.
Schopp shot an 89 on Friday and an 87 on Saturday to finish in 65th place individually. He was followed by senior Joe Pioletti (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) in 73rd place with a two-round score of 182. Monmouth’s Sean McNamara won the individual title with a 150 to help the Fighting Scots to the team title with an overall score of 609.
The Red Devils will return to competition on Friday, April 2 at noon at the first day of the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill. The event is scheduled to run through Saturday, April 3.
