Red Devils Place Ninth at McNaughton Classic
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Eureka College senior T.J. Schopp (LeRoy, Ill./LeRoy H.S.) earned a top-20 finish with an 81, leading the Red Devils to a ninth place team finish at the John McNaughton Memorial Classic at the Jacksonville Country Club in Jacksonville, Ill.
Schopp carded a 40 on the front nine and a 41 on the final nine holes to finish in a three-way tie for 19th place, earning the top Eureka finish for the fourth consecutive tournament this spring. Webster won the event with a team score of 297.
The Red Devils will return to action and close the 2011 season next Monday at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship at Forest Park Golf Club in St. Louis, Mo.
