Zasada garners SLIAC honor
ST. LOUIS, MO — Eureka College sophomore Michael Zasada (McHenry, Ill./HS) received Honorable Mention All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades following a vote of the league's coaches.
A 6-5 forward, Zasada placed second on the SLIAC rebounding list with a 9.3 rebounds per league game average. He was also fourth in blocked shots (20), fifth in steals (2.0 spg), sixth in three-point field goal percentage (40.4%) and 16th in scoring (12.0 ppg). He recorded five double-doubles on the year, including four in conference action, which all led to Eureka (9-16, 8-8 SLIAC) victories.
Zasada finished the season strong, averaging 13.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and making 14-of-30 three-point attempts in eight February games played. He lead the Red Devils in rebounds 18 times, including 14 out of the last 15 games. The SLIAC named him Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 28 - Feb. 3.
