NABC names Darnall to Honors Court
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has named Mark Darnall (Lake Mills, Wis./HS) to the NABC Honors Court for the 2007-08 season. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that men possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.
Darnall led multiple teams in points during his junior year at Eureka, netting five points for the soccer team and averaging 13.3 points in basketball. At the conference level, he was a two-time SLIAC Player of the Week in basketball, posting a team-leading 41.4 percent mark from three-point range. A sports management major, Darnall is a three-time Academic All-SLIAC honoree and president of the EC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
"We are very proud to have Mark representing our program at the national level as a member of the NABC Honors Court," said Eureka head men's basketball coach and NABC member Chip Wilde.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
(1) Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
(2) Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2007-08 academic year.
(3) Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
(4) Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA institution.
