Kameron Bell Named SLIAC Player of the Week
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Three days removed from putting together the best all-around performance of his collegiate career, Eureka College senior guard Kameron Bell (Clinton, Ill./Clinton H.S./Carl Sandburg) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league late Monday night. The award is Bell’s third weekly honor from the SLIAC this season.
Bell recorded Eureka’s first triple-double on record in a 93-67 rout of Principia on Saturday afternoon at the Reagan Center. The six-foot-three guard scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists, helping the Red Devils win their fifth straight contest at home and improve their league record to 6-2 for sole possession of the second place at the halfway point of the SLIAC schedule.
In Wednesday’s conference game at Blackburn, Bell scored a game-high 35 points in a 109-105 overtime win. Bell made both of his three-point field goal attempts on his way to scoring 12 points in the overtime period, helping the Red Devils improve to 7-0 against Blackburn since joining the SLIAC prior to the 2006-07 season. Bell’s solid week improved his season scoring average to a league-best 21.3 points per game.
Bell and the Red Devils will return to SLIAC action Wednesday night at the Reagan Center against MacMurray at 8 p.m.
