Doubet extends frosh goals record in loss to greenville

David Doubet (Pekin, Ill./HS) extended his school record for goals scored by a freshman in Eureka's 7-1 setback to Greenville College.
The Panthers (10-3-3) scored the first four goals of the match, with the last coming in the 22nd minute. Doubet then picked up his seventh tally of the year in the 38th minute to make the halftime score 4-1.
Greenville found the net three times in the first 22 minutes of the second half to set the final score. Jeff Arsenault recorded a pair of goals, while Justin Herfst had six points (1 G, 4 A) to lead the Panthers.
The Red Devils put 10 of their 12 shots on frame led by three by Derek Johnson (Leland, Ill./HIS). Eureka keeper Justin Horrer (Hopedale, Ill./Olympia) made 16 saves, facing a total of 30 Greenville shots.
The Red Devils will next take on the Principia College, which is currently tied for the SLIAC lead at 4-0-1, Saturday, October 18 at 5:00 pm in Elsah, Ill.
