David Crady Named SLIAC Player of the Week
EUREKA, Ill. – Eureka College junior midfielder David Crady (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora H.S.) has been named the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league late Monday night. Crady scored two goals and added three assists in two Eureka victories last week.
Crady started the week with a pair of assists in Eureka’s 6-4 non-conference victory over Robert Morris last Wednesday at Traister Field. He followed that performance with his best individual outing of the season, helping the Red Devils to a 4-1 league win over Blackburn on Saturday.
Locked in a 1-1 tie, Crady headed home the game-winning goal off a corner kick from junior Serkan Bakirdan (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) in the 55th minute. Crady provided insurance for the Red Devils in the 78th minute when his diving header redirected another lob from Bakirdan into the net. He also assisted on Evan Kingery’s (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth H.S.) first career goal in the first half.
Crady and the Red Devils will play a non-conference match at Illinois College this Thursday at 3 p.m. in Jacksonville, Ill.
