Marian Downs Men's Tennis, 5-1
EUREKA, Ill. -- Playing an abbreviated dual match because of inclement weather, the Eureka College men's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to Marian (Wis.), Saturday morning. Junior Aaron Phelan (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) recorded Eureka's first singles victory of the season with a straight sets win at No. 4.
Phelan turned aside Marian's Andrew Bales, 6-4, 6-1. The Sabres won the remaining singles matches in straight sets to secure the dual victory. The two squads did not play doubles matches because of inclement weather. The defeat drops the Red Devils to 0-4 on the season.
The Red Devils will return to the court on Saturday, March 27 in a 3:30 p.m. dual match against Ripon in Galesburg, Ill.
