Abby Segal - SLIAC Pitcher of the Week
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Eureka College junior Abby Segal (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) has been chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 17-23.
A transfer from Lincoln College, Segal has been steady all season pitching for the Red Devils. She was in top form in the Red Devils' (4-6, 2-0 SLIAC) home opener versus MacMurray College on March 20, striking out eight batters in a complete game shut out. Segal got within four outs of a no-hitter, allowing just two hits and three walks in the game as EC won 3-0.
For the season, Segal currently has a record of 4-2 with a 1.06 earned run average. She has 35 strikeouts in 39.2 innings, and has not allowed an earned run over her last 19 frames.
The Red Devils, who have won three out of their last four contests, are next slated to host Knox College for a doubleheader Thursday, March 27 beginning at 3:00 pm.
