Head Coach Jane Austin
The 2010-11 season will be Jane Austin’s fifth at the helm of the Eureka College swimming program. She has also served as Aquatics Director of the Reagan Center in her time at Eureka.
Austin has coached swimming at various levels for more than 20 years. Before returning to her alma mater, she spent 10 years coaching men’s and women’s swimming at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. She was an assistant for seven seasons before being promoted to head men’s and women’s coach in 1999. Austin was voted Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2002 and is a two-time Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year for the MidEast Conference Championships.
At Eureka, Austin’s swimming teams have increased in depth and experience during her tenure. Eureka swimmers regularly improve their times throughout the season under her guidance.
A Eureka College graduate with a degree in physical education, Austin is also the Aquatics Director at Five Points Washington in Washington, Ill.
Additionally, she is the head age group coach and assistant senior coach for the Peoria Area Water Wizards and Central Illinois Aquatics. Austin’s coaching has produced 10 Junior Olympic state champions, 21 individual junior national qualifying times, six swimmers ranking within the top-16 swimmers in their respective age group and seven YMCA national qualifiers.
