Red Devils post 6 personal bests at Panther Invite
ELSAH, Ill. — Alyssa Wetterauer (Washington, Ill./HS) set personal best times in all three events she entered Saturday at the Panther Invitational hosted by Principia College. She took fifth place in the women's 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 3:04.40, and also achieved low times in the 100 breaststroke and
Aaron Phelan (Eureka, Ill./HS) led Eureka in the men's events with a fourth place finish and personal best in the 100 breaststroke. His time of 0:26.83 in the 50 freestyle also represented his best time of the season. The Red Devils had one other personal best set by Blair Steffens (Pontiac, Ill./HS) in the men's 100 breaststroke. Back on the women's side, Kelsey Hale (Hood River, Ore./Valley) posted a fifth place finish in the 200 freestyle.
NAIA member Lindenwood University won both the men's and women's titles. Eureka took third place in the men's rankings, just ahead of Illinois College.
The Red Devils will conclude their season at the Liberal Arts Championships hosted by Principia. The three-day event runs Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23. Prelims begin each day at 10:00 am, with the finals at 6:00 pm.
