Downs places 1st in high jump at North Central meet
NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Eureka's Kim Downs (Kewanee, Ill./HS) won the women's high jump Saturday at the First Chance Meet hosted by North Central College. Downs' leap of 4' 9.75'' put her in a tie with two others for the top effort out of seven entered in the event. She also took seventh in the long jump.
In the men's events, Jordan Vignoni (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) placed tenth out of 24 competitors in the shut put with a toss of 36' 6.25''. He also improved almost 16 feet on his discus throw from the previous week to take 15th out of 23 with a result of 98' 5,'' while Jacob Foor (Springfield, Ill./Lanphier) improved nearly 15 feet to take 13th in the discus.
Eureka will next be in action Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, in a meet hosted by Washington University of
