8 Red Devils record season bests at WU Select Meet

Results

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The EC track and field team took part in the Washington University Select Meet last weekend.  Every Red Devil that competed set a season best in at least one event.

Kim Downs (Kewanee, Ill./HS) improved on her high jump that won the meet hosted by North Central the previous week to a height of 4' 11'' to take sixth place.  Her best finish out of her five events on the day, however, can in the javelin with a throw of 92' 7'' for a second place finish out of 10 competitors.

Mary Ackerman (Morton, Ill./HS) registered a season best time of 5:55.26 in the women's 1500 meter race to lead three Red Devils in the event.

Jordan Vignoni (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) finished 12th in both the men's discus and javelin with throws of 101' 7'' and 113' 5'' respectively.

The Eureka tracksters will next be in action Tuesday, April 15 at the Millikin University Don Luy Invitational.
