Nicole Fisher earns All-Region honors from D3hoops.com

EUREKA — For the second consecutive year, Nicole Fisher (Canton, Ill./HS) has been selected as an All-Central Region performer by D3hoops.com.  A senior forward on the Eureka College women's basketball team, Fisher was named to the Third Team this season after making the Second Team last year.

Eureka has had five All-Region honorees since 1994 and eight All-State recipients between 1984-1993.  Fisher is the first player at EC win earn either honor multiple times.  She was chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year earlier this year after averaging 17.4 points and 13.4 rebounds while shooting 53.5 percent in 25 games played.  Her rebounding average ranked fifth in all of NCAA Division III and the highest ever in the history of the SLIAC and Eureka College.

Fisher recorded 18 double-doubles this season en route to setting three other school rebounding records.  She finished her career as Eureka's all-time leader with 892 career rebounds, 22 boards in a game and 336 rebounds in a season, breaking the previous single season mark by 80.

Sports Information Directors nominated and voted for the All-Region teams.  The Central Region is one of eight regions in NCAA Division III, consisting of the University of Chicago and Washington University of St. Louis of the UAA, several independents and members of the following conferences: College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Midwest Conference, Northern Athletics Conference, SLIAC and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
