Lindsey Crum receives All-Conference honors

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its awards for the 2008-09 season following the conference tournament championship game Saturday afternoon.  Junior Lindsey Crum (Washington, Ill./HS) represented Eureka College, receiving Honorable Mention all-conference honors.

Crum, a 6-0 guard/forward, was one of the top offensive threats in the league this season.  She finished third in the SLIAC scoring race, averaging 18.6 points per contest in conference play.  She recorded at least 20 points seven times in 16 league games, and was the only player in the SLIAC to tally multiple 30-point efforts, putting up 34 against MacMurray in a three-point Eureka win on January 21 and 31, including 26 in the first half, at Westminster on February 21.  Crum became the first Red Devil since the 1985-86 season with multiple games of at least 30 points in the same year.  Her 34 points in a game are the third most in the 35-year history of Eureka women's basketball.

A junior transfer in her first year on the team, Crum made the fifth most three-pointers in the conference with 34, just five off the league lead.  She was also ranked among the SLIAC leaders in blocked shots (10th), three-point percentage (11th), field goal percentage (11th) and free throw percentage (12th).  On the other end of the court, she helped the Red Devils lead the SLIAC in team field goal percentage defense (35.2%) for the second consecutive year.  Crum amassed at least 15 points on all nine games played in January and was named the pjstar.com EC Scholar Athlete of the Month.
