Chantaivia Knight Named All-SLIAC Honorable Mention
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka College sophomore forward Chantaivia Knight (Normal, Ill./University H.S.) has been named All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honorable Mention, the league announced Saturday. The postseason award is the first of Knight’s collegiate career.
Knight averaged 11.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, joining Principia’s Lindsay Sydness as the only two players in the nine-team SLIAC to average a double-double. She also finished second in blocked shots (1.16 BPG) and 10th in field goal percentage (.469). Knight earned the second SLIAC Player of the Week award of her career on Dec. 15 after recording a double-double in a 75-70 win over Greenville at the Reagan Center on Dec. 10.
She recorded new career-highs during the 2009-10 season with 25 points on Jan. 23 against Principia and 17 rebounds on Dec. 4 against Mount Mary. Knight was named to the All-Eureka Classic Team on Dec. 5 after leading the Red Devils to a 1-1 record in the ninth annual event at the Reagan Center.
Eureka finished the 2009-10 season with a 6-19 record.
