Cold Shooting Dooms Eureka at Webster, 69-29
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Eureka College women’s basketball team fell behind by double-digits early in its St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Webster on Saturday, dropping a 69-29 decision to the Gorloks at Grant Gymnasium in St. Louis Mo.
Eureka struggled from the field, shooting just 16.1 percent on 9-of-56 shooting. The Red Devils missed their first seven shots to start the game as Webster put together a big lead. The Gorloks led 35-11 at halftime.
The Red Devils were unable to cut into their deficit after intermission. The Gorloks outscored the visitors 34-18 in the second half.
Freshman guard Kiley Bugaieski (Tremont, Ill./Tremont H.S.) came off the bench to knock down a pair of 3-pointers and lead the Red Devils in scoring with a career-high eight points. Junior forward Lisa Byard (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) added six points and collected a game-high 10 rebounds.
Eureka will return to the Reagan Center on Tuesday to play its final home game of 2010, hosting USCAA member Robert Morris-Springfield in a non-conference game at 5:30 p.m.
