FULTON, Mo. -- The Eureka College women's basketball team dropped the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship game to top-seeded Westminster, 60-54, Saturday night in Fulton Mo. Eureka senior forward Khassandrae Brown (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria H.S./Kankakee) led all players with 17 points and 19 rebounds, while sophomore guard Caty Eeten (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) scored 16 points to break Eureka's single-season scoring record.
Eeten finished the season with 594 points, breaking the previous single-season Eureka mark of 583 set by Sherry Bryan during the 1985-86 campaign. Brown's 19 rebounds on Saturday tied a career-high and were the fourth-most in single-game program history.
Both Brown and Eeten were named to the All-Tournament Team. The Red Devils close the season with a 21-5 overall record, and the 12-win improvement from last season was the biggest single-season turnaround in program history.
With the win, the Blue Jays (22-4) received the SLIAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
