GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Eureka freshman guard Caty Eeten (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) made 10 of 11 free throws en route to a 17-point night and junior forward Khassandrae Brown (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria H.S./Kankakee) chipped in with 15 points, but the Red Devils dropped their second consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest in a 68-57 defeat at Greenville, Thursday night at H.J. Long Gymnasium in Greenville, Ill.
Eeten also contributed five steals, three assists and two blocked shots. Junior guard Sara Hamilton (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S./Illinois Central) grabbed a team-best nine rebounds in her 11th consecutive starting assignment to begin her Eureka career.
Three Greenville starters scored in double-figures, led by 16 points apiece from Laura Hobbie and Emmalee Fladland. Heather Bush came off the bench to collect a game-high 12 rebounds in just 21 minutes played. The victory improves Greenville to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the league.
The Red Devils will end a 40-day stretch away from the Reagan Center when they return home to host SLIAC foe Westminster this Saturday at 1 p.m. Eureka went 1-5 on its season-long six-game road trip.
