Red Devils Rout Red Lions, 82-22
LINCOLN, Ill. – Eureka College freshman guard Jaquie Flanagan (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) turned in the best performance of her collegiate career with 19 points, 11 rebounds and six steals to lead the Red Devils to an 82-22 win at Lincoln Christian, Wednesday night.
The Red Devils never trailed, jumping to a 14-0 lead to start the game. Sophomore forward Lisa Byard (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) scored 19 points in the victory, while senior guard Lauren Snopek (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S./Illinois Central) chipped in with 13 points, seven steals and six assists. The victory snaps a five-game losing streak for the Red Devils.
The 82 points scored was a new season-high for the Red Devils. Eureka also recorded a season-best with 25 steals and forced 30 LCU turnovers. Wednesday’s victory is just the second road win of the season for the Red Devils after opening the campaign with a 77-40 win at Mount Mary on Nov. 20.
Eureka will return to SLIAC play this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Westminster.
