Sara Hamilton Earns Second SLIAC Weekly Honor
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – For the second time this season, Eureka College junior guard Sara Hamilton (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S./Illinois Central) has been chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday night. Hamilton previously earned SLIAC Player of the Week honors on Dec. 20.
Hamilton averaged 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of league contests last week. She went 7-for-11 from the field and recorded game-highs with 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists in Eureka’s 75-57 win over MacMurray last Saturday at the Reagan Center.
Through 13 games this season, Hamilton is the only player in the SLIAC to rank among the top-six in the league in scoring (12.5, sixth), rebounding (7.3, fifth) and assists (2.9, fourth). She also averages a league-high 34.3 minutes played per game.
Hamilton and the Red Devils will take a break from SLIAC play this week, hosting Lincoln Christian Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Reagan Center. Eureka will return to league action this Saturday at Blackburn at 1 p.m.
