Women's Basketball Hosts Annual Alumni Game
EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka College women’s basketball team hosted its second annual Alumni Game on Sunday. Eight former EC women’s basketball players returned to campus to join forces with the 2011-12 Red Devils to a play a 40-minute exhibition at the Reagan Center
“I want to thank all of the women’s basketball alums and their families for making our alumni game a huge success on Sunday,” second-year Eureka head coach Taren Martin said. “The Eureka College women’s basketball program is a family and we’re always happy to welcome back our alums with open arms. Once a Red Devil, always a Red Devil.”
Eureka Athletics Hall of Famers Jessica Reardon (’05) and Mindy Whitehouse (’94) participated in the event. Also among the alums playing in the game were all-time Eureka leading rebounder Nicole Fisher (’09) and current Eureka cross country head coach Kim Holdenrid (’07).
The Red Devils will open their 37th season in program history against Robert Morris-Springfield on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Reagan Center at 5 p.m. Eureka is scheduled to play 24 games in 2011-12, including a pair of contests at the second annual D3hoops.com Classic at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. on Dec. 27 and Dec. 29.
