Zapushek wins back-to-back SLIAC Player of the Week awards
Eureka College junior KT Zapushek (Metamora, Ill./HS) has earned her second consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week award for her accomplishments during the week of Sept. 29 - Oct. 5.
Zapushek was honored for her clutch play last week as she scored the tie-breaking goals in the Red Devils' 3-2 win over MacMurray and 2-1 victory over Robert Morris-Springfield. The wins gave Eureka a program record four-match winning streak, with Zapushek registering the game-winning goal in all four contests. She scored with 14:07 left versus MacMurray and with 16:08 to play against RMC-Springfield after having already picked up an assist on Eureka's first goal of the game.
Zapushek is tied for the SLIAC lead in goals scored in league matches with five, and is ranked second in points per game at 2.75. For the season, she has accounted for 11 goals and four assists through 15 games. The Red Devils have posted a 7-1 record in the eight games in which she has scored a goal.
