Augustana Downs Women's Tennis, 9-0
EUREKA, Ill. – The Eureka College women’s tennis team dropped a 9-0 non-conference decision to Augustana, Monday afternoon in Eureka. The loss drops the Red Devils to 3-4 on the season.
The Vikings claimed each of the singles matches in straight sets. Eureka junior Natalie Wetterauer (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) recorded Eureka’s best singles performance, but fell 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2 singles to Tricia Sapio. Augustana also swept the three doubles matches. Eureka’s pairing of senior Alyssa Wetterauer (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) and junior Meredith Lynch (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap H.S.) came up short in their No. 1 doubles match, falling 8-3 to Jenna Richardson and Tricia Crawford.
Eureka will return to SLIAC play Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Greenville.
