Red Devils ace test against MacMurray
The Red Devils won their second St. Louis Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference volleyball match in a row Tuesday night, sweeping
MacMurray College 3-0 (30-20, 30-16, 30-27) on the road.
Kaurie Lindenmeyer (Arcola, Ill./HS) led Eureka College (7-13,
3-7 SLIAC) with 11 kills and Sam Poterek (Lee, Ill./Indian Creek)
put away eight kills on only 11 swings to lead an efficient Red Devil
attack. Julie Haskell (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur) amplified the team's
success with seven kills and only one error. EC hit at a .268 clip for
the match.
Kylie Bahorik (Washington, Ill./Peoria Christian) and Marisa
Durley (Roanoke, Ill./Roanoke-Benson) shared setting duties with 17
and 13 assists respectively.
Laura Willman (Metamora, Ill./HS) helped the team set a season
high with six of Eureka's 20 aces. She also led EC with nine digs.
EC hosts Maryville University Thursday, Oct. 4 as part of a big day at
the Reagan Center. The official dedication of the Bonati Fitness Center
and Rigazio Lobby will take place at 4:00 pm, with the volleyball match
to follow at 7:00 pm.
