Eureka's winning streak, home slate, ended by Clarke

EUREKA, Ill. — Eureka's season-long six-match winning streak went by the boards on Homecoming Saturday afternoon at the hands of a strong Clarke College (24-10) outfit 3-0 (30-19, 30-16, 30-18).

The Red Devils (13-16) were led on the day by Heather Myers (Eureka, Ill./HS) and Kylie Bahorik (Washington, Ill./Peoria Christian). Myers posted eight kills and no errors for a .400 hitting percentage, while Bahorik tallied 24 assists and eight digs.

Seniors Chelsea Faith (Mt. Pulaski, Ill./HS) added nine kills and Emily Forbes (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) dug 11 hits in their final home match as Red Devils.

Eureka closes the 2007 campaign with a conference match at Maryville University tonight at 7:00 pm. The Red Devils would finish at .500 and in a tie for fifth in the SLIAC standings with a victory over the Saints, who defeated EC 3-1 (30-18, 20-30, 30-20, 30-18) on Oct. 4.
