Eureka bedeviled by angels

Eureka College fell in three sets to perennial volleyball power Lincoln Christian College by scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-17 Tuesday night.
Brittany Feger (Heyworth, Ill./HS) led EC on the night with seven kills in 16 attempts for a .313 percentage. Heather Myers (Eureka, Ill./HS) and Paige Fannon (East Peoria, Ill./HS) recorded six kills each, and combined for only one error. Myers served three aces in the match, all in the second set.
Laura Willman (Metamora, Ill./HS) had 16 digs to lead the team defensively. Kaurie Lindenmeyer (Arcola, Ill./HS) was next with 14, while Kylie Bahorik (Washington, Ill./Peoria Christian) completed a double-double with 11 digs and 17 assists.
The Angels of Lincoln Christian, who will be one of the five teams competing in the Eureka College Invitational on September 27, improved to 8-3 on the year.
The Red Devils have begun the season playing 13 of their first 14 matches away from home, but will play the next seven in Eureka. The homestand begins Friday, Sept. 19 as EC contests the first of 16 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches at 7:00 pm versus Westminster College.
