Volleyball Falls at Greenville in Four sets
GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka College volleyball earned a hard-fought victory in the first set of Tuesday’s SLIAC match at Greenville, but the host Panthers recovered to post a 25-27, 25-10, 25-22, 25-10 win over the Red Devils, ending Eureka’s brief two-match conference win streak.
Eureka (6-11, 3-2 SLIAC) senior outside hitter Heather Myers (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) recorded 12 kills to lead the Red Devils. Senior Lauren Snopek (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) added 24 digs and classmate Laura Willman (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) had 22 assists.
Greenville (8-7, 5-1 SLIAC) junior Katelin Feyerabend put down a game-high 22 kills for the Panthers. As a team, Greenville recorded 11.0 blocks, led by two solo blocks from freshman Tricia Gall.
The Red Devils have a busy weekend ahead, hosting new SLIAC member Spalding at 7 p.m. this Friday. Eureka will remain at the Reagan Center on Saturday to play Fontbonne at 4 p.m. and MacMurray at 6:30 p.m.
