MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Eureka College volleyball team played three times Saturday at a quadrangular hosted by the Milwaukee School of Engineering, posting victories over Marian and MSOE before dropping its final match of the day to Edgewood.  Senior outside hitter Heather Myers (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) eclipsed the 1,000 career kill mark with her second kill in the match against Edgewood.

The Red Devils cruised to a three-set sweep over Marian to open the day, 32-30, 25-22, 25-21, their third three-set win in the last eight days.  Myers (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) smashed a personal season-best 16 kills to lead the offense, while junior Kaurie Lindenmeyer (Arcola, Ill./Arcola H.S.) finished right behind Myers with 15 kills.  Lindenmeyer's kill total was a new career-high.  Senior Laura Willman (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) also set a new career best in the win with 36 assists, topping her previous career-high of 30 set Sept. 1 against Knox.

Later in the day, Eureka was pushed to the limit before dropping host MSOE in five sets, 11-25, 25-23, 26-28, 25-21, 15-5.  Myers and Willman came up big for the Red Devils again, as Myers put down 14 kills and Willman recorded 34 assists.  Senior Lauren Snopek (Metamora, Ill./Metamora H.S.) recorded 41 digs in the five-set win, a new career-high for the newcomer.  The Red Devils had eight blocks during the match, led by junior Paige Fannon (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria H.S.) with 3.5.

Edgewood handed Eureka its lone loss of the trip in four sets, winning, 25-16, 16-25, 25-21, 25-13.  Myers had 11 kills to finish run her career total to 1,009.  Sophomore Brittany Feger (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth H.S.) led EC with 12 kills.

Eureka returns to action this Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. SLIAC match at MacMurray.
