Courtney Kincaid Named SLIAC Player of the Week

SLIAC News Release

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka College junior libero Courtney Kincaid (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central H.S.) has been chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcment from the league office late Monday night.  Kincaid set a personal-best in digs twice during the week, including a school-record 48 digs in Eureka’s victory over Fontbonne last Saturday.

Kincaid played in all 13 of the Red Devils’ games last week, compiling 93 digs and three service aces.  Her 24 digs in Eureka’s three-set sweep of Blackburn were a career-best at the time.  She went on to double that mark with 48 digs in a four-set victory over Fontbonne on Saturday night at the Reagan Center.

Through Eureka’s first 13 matches, Kincaid ranks first among Eureka defensive specialists and fourth among all SLIAC players with 192 digs.  She has added nine service aces to rank third among the Red Devils.  With her four appearances last week at the Reagan Center, Kincaid extended her consecutive matches played streak to 79 and is one of only two Red Devils to have appeared in every match since the beginning of the 2009 season.

Kincaid and the Red Devils will return to SLIAC action this Saturday in Carlinville, Ill.  Eureka will play defending SLIAC champion Greenville at noon before squaring off against host Blackburn at 2 p.m.
