TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Eureka College volleyball team concluded play at the Rose-Hulman Invitational on Sunday, losing a 25-12, 25-17, 25-17 decision to Manchester during the morning session before tournament host Rose-Hulman handed the Red Devils a 25-14, 25-19, 25-15 defeat in the nightcap.

 

Senior middle blocker Paige Fannon (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria H.S.) put down six kills for the Red Devils (1-6) in the morning session against Manchester.  Sophomore setter Emily Campbell (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac H.S.) recorded eight assists and two service aces against the Spartans, while junior Courtney Kincaid (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central H.S.) had 15 digs.

 

In the second match of the afternoon and the final match of the two-day tournament against Rose-Hulman, sophomore outside hitter Peyton McAtee (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) recorded five kills without an error and served up two aces to lead the Eureka offense.  Junior outside hitter Kelli Dunne (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods H.S./Illinois Central) also had five kills against the Fightin’ Engineers.  McAtee and Kincaid shared the team lead with 11 digs.

 

Eureka will continue its stretch of eight consecutive road matches to open the season next Saturday when the Red Devils travel to Louisville, Ky. to open the 16-match St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule.  Eureka will play Spalding on its home floor at 10 a.m. Saturday before taking on Webster at noon.
