Greenville Box Score

Blackburn Box Score

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- Eureka College junior outside hitter Shari Steidinger (Forrest, Ill./Prairie Central H.S.) put down a team-high 10 kills as part of her second double-double of the season to lead the Red Devils to a 25-19, 27-25, 25-19 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sweep of Blackburn, Saturday afternoon in Carlinville, Ill.  SLIAC rival Greenville claimed a 25-18, 25-17, 25-17 victory over the Red Devils in Saturday’s first match.

Steidinger, who also recorded 13 digs for her sixth career double-double, paced a Eureka attack that recorded 32 kills against the Beavers.  Senior Brittany Feger (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth H.S.) and junior Kelli Dunne (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods H.S./Illinois Central) chipped in with seven kills apiece, while sophomore Petyon McAtee (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) added six kills.

Senior setter Annette Crady (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora H.S.) continued her recent solid play with 28 assists, while junior libero and reigning SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week Courtney Kincaid (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) led all Red Devils with 21 digs.

Dunne, Steidinger and McAtee each recorded six kills to lead EC against Greenville in the first match of the day.  Crady added 24 assists and Kincaid had 15 digs.  Dunne and Steidinger also added three service aces apiece against the Panthers.

The Saturday split moves Eureka’s 2011 record to 4-11 overall and 3-5 in SLIAC play.  The Red Devils will return home this Tuesday to host Webster at 7 p.m.  Because of renovations being completed inside the Reagan Center, the match against the Gorloks will be contested at Eureka High School.
